Building a ducted RV AC setup gets easier when the main pieces are already matched. This kit includes the 18,000 Btu rooftop Chill Cube AC with heat pump, low-profile ducted air distribution box, remote control, single-zone wall thermostat, and thermostat adapter harness. The air distribution box connects the rooftop unit to your RV's ducted airflow system, while the thermostat and harness give you a dedicated wall-control setup instead of relying only on ceiling or remote controls.
In a ducted RV, cooling power is only part of the story. The AC also has to move air through the ceiling ductwork before it reaches the rooms and vents farther from the unit. This Furrion Chill Cube gives you 18,000 Btu of cooling capacity and 445 CFM of airflow, helping bring cabin temperatures down while pushing cooled air through longer duct runs more effectively.
A traditional AC often cools hard, shuts off, then starts again once the cabin warms back up. That can leave your RV bouncing between too warm and too cold, especially during long cooling stretches. The variable-speed compressor adjusts output as conditions change, helping the system stay closer to the temperature you want instead of constantly cycling on and off. Continuous operation also helps improve efficiency and dehumidification, while Turbo Cool mode helps bring the RV down to temperature faster when the cabin is hot. Because of this variability, the system runs noticeably quieter than many traditional RV ACs, making it less distracting during TV time, conversation, or sleep.
Cool mornings and shoulder-season trips do not always call for firing up a furnace. This unit has a built-in 17,000 Btu heat pump that can provide electric warmth without using propane. In cooling mode, the system moves heat out of the RV. In heat pump mode, it reverses that process and pulls available heat from the outside air into the coach. It is useful for mild, cooler conditions, but it is not meant to replace your main furnace in cold weather.
You have more than one way to manage comfort inside the RV. The air distribution box includes a keypad for ceiling control, and the remote lets you make adjustments from your seat or bed. The Follow Me function senses temperature near the remote, helping the system respond to the area you are actually using. For a fixed control point, the included wall thermostat has a backlit LCD display, touch controls, Turbo Cool mode, Energy-Saving Gear mode, Auto Function, program timers, and Auto Restart.
The included thermostat adapter harness is made for ducted Furrion Chill Cube systems and lets the wall thermostat integrate with an existing furnace in a single-zone setup. It also supports a wall-thermostat control path when you want a dedicated control on the wall instead of depending on standard remote operation. That gives you a more familiar RV comfort setup, especially if you already manage heating from a wall control.
Humid air can make an RV feel sticky and heavy, even after the temperature starts to drop. While it cools, this unit removes up to 1.8 pints of moisture per hour, helping reduce that damp, clammy feeling on your skin and making the cabin feel less muggy. That extra moisture removal helps the space feel more comfortable on humid camping days when cold air alone is not enough.
You are not always plugged into a full-power campsite when the RV starts heating up. This Chill Cube is 2,000W generator or inverter ready, giving you more flexibility for campgrounds, travel stops, and off-grid setups when paired with the right power source. Battery saver modes also help manage power use when you are trying to stretch your available energy. This unit runs on 115V, 60Hz power, with 1,480 watts of cooling power consumption, 15.8 amps of cooling current draw, and 11.9 amps of heating current draw. Those numbers give you something concrete to compare against your RV electrical system, generator, inverter, or campsite power before installation.
Installing a ducted AC system means lifting the rooftop unit onto the RV, sealing the roof opening, connecting the air distribution box, and setting up the wall thermostat and adapter harness correctly. I finally got around to installing it today (Sunday). The instructions leave a lot to be desired on the wiring. I assume that the chill cube supplies it’s own 12VDC which is not discussed in the instructions nor in the 2 videos that I watched on your site. For some reason the thermostat doesn’t come on but I’m able to work the AC with the remote control and the control board on the AC. I find that the AC doesn’t get as cold as the older 15k/btu AC located in the living room however I’m currently only hooked up to a 120VAC/20A receptacle. I’m not sure if that’s the reason for the fair performance or not. Please let me know what I need to do to resolve these issues!
The verdict is still out on this unit. Shipping was fast, and etrailer did a good job communicating with me. Unfortunately, the main unit left the factory, with the motor that runs the fan, completely unsecured to the mounting bracket. The rivnuts (photo attached) that get placed and are supposed to be compressed into the motor mount bracket were not compressed at all. I discovered this after the installation was complete, and attempting to start up the unit. For most people, the solution would be to send the unit back to etrailer. I dont have time for this, so I fixed the issue by adding wiznuts and loctite to secure the motor. This was very difficult to do due to access to the back of the motor mount.
In addition, some foam blocks that were loose in the package were meant for vibration isolation. These did not get installed becuase they were assumed to be packing material. Therefore, it sounds like a semi-truck has pulled up next to my RV every time the compressor spins up and spins down. I have a case open with Lippert at the moment, so I will update my review if I remember to.

The Furrion Chill Cube 18k Heat Pump works flawlessly so far. The only complaint I have is that the remote only works within 8 feet or less from theADB. I installed two of these units and the remote distance is the same on both.
Excellent air conditioner, just ordered a second one. I was going to wait but this new one runs so quiet we decided to replace the second one now.

Wiring instructions are a little confusing for pin connections. Not etrailer fault. Otherwise good.
I havent hooked the AC up yet, but this company has the absolute best customer service that I have ever experienced. I will be using E-Trailer for all my other purchases from here on out
Installed it almost 2 weeks ago and I have absolutely loved it I have a 37 ft travel trailer that could never keep itself cool this unit itself can cool and keep the camper cold itself was in the 90s and kept it a solid 72 inside by itself. I absolutely love this unit so glad I waited for it

I love everything about the Chill Cube and the power consumption. I bought the ducted version and the distribution box (sold separately) was easy to install. However, my only complaint is the the distribution box has a louvre to dump the air directly out and when closed the two pieces of plastic rattle slightly at film fan speed making it loud. I will be building my own air diverter to funnel the air more efficiently into the duct work which will eliminate the ability to dump the air straight out and should eliminate the rattle.

Only problem: we bought a ductless furrion chill cube for the bedroom all went great. Then found out the AC in the living room didnt cool well enough. So decided to AI my options. It told me I could buy a ducted chill cube for the living room and I could just buy 2 Air distribution plates come to find out I can’t so I feel Ive screwed myself dont know what to do. Just want my living/kitchen tolerable in AZ 110• summer days. Any suggestions at this point what to do? Any options or suggestions? Thanks
My Furrion variable speed heat pump arrived yesterday afternoon. I read the installation instructions last night. I picked up a material lift, like Genie) that will lift 12 foot to the top of the motorhome this morning. The old Coleman Mach 15 never did cool well and didn’t have much airflow. It took about an hour to setup and remove the old unit. The new unit took about 2 hours to install and I didn’t rush. The instructions are good. I took their advice and used metal tape to hold the air baffle in place while inserting the 4 mounting bolts. I tried to install it facing the back but quickly positioned it correctly. I powered the unit up and set it to cool as it was raining and 91 outside. In about an hour the unit started slowing down and reached 75.
This unit is much quieter and delivered twice the air of the Coleman.
The turbo mode delivers even more air but is about the same sound level as the Coleman. I worked as an electrical controls engineer. I was anxious to look inside the unit. I found a very well constructed and sturdy unit. Refrigerant lines were clamped, tied and positioned in holders to prevent road vibration from damaging them. A previous travel trailer with a Coleman broke refrigerant lines twice but I was able to repair, evacuate and charge the unit. I ended up reinforcing the flexible base and clamping lines so they wouldn’t rub or vibrate.
I installed this on a 27 foot class C motorhome. I had planned to add a second AC units but I decided to just try this unit first. I’m anxious to try it out in hot weather as the old unit would not hold 80 inside when it was 95 outside.
I think I will really enjoy sleeping as this variable speed unit just slows down and not cycle of and on sometimes waking us. I may add the wall thermostat so the remote will work in the bedroom since it’s IR.
I was able to wire the old thermostat to work at a heating only thermostat to operate the furnace but we will most likely use the heat pump. Our propane tank for heat is permanently mounted requiring propane delivery or trips to the propane supplier.
I plan on other update once we have lived with it.

Can’t say enough good stuff about this unit. Super quiet. Cools very well. First weekend was around 100 outside still maintained 70 inside with zero issues. Install was super easy.
It works,it is quiet, it was not hard to install, following the instructions took about 6 hours. But now my furnace doesn't work. My remote won't pair with the unit. My old system the furnace was controlled by the AC unit "Dometic" will need to buy additional parts to get the furnace to work, and additional install time. Most likely 2 thermostats. Had I known all of this probably wouldn't have purchased this.
Product delivery date moved around a bit but it was finally delivered at a convenient time for me. I rented a portable lift from HD and had the old unit off and the new unit centered over the opening in less than an hour. Electrically, it proved to be challenging. No issues with 110, it was just the less than ideal directions from Furrion about all the low voltage connectors. I also had a problem with the thermostat wiring connectors but a quick phone call to E-Trailer solved both problems. Unit is amazingly quiet and worked first time I turned it on from the control panel, the remote and the wall thermostat. The furnace working was another issue that is well known before I started. I watched BTBRV and Living for a Living videos to see what could be done. I ordered JDs recommended thermostat and I could not figure out the low voltage wiring. I sat at the dinette table with pictures, cut wires, video playing and pictures of the old AC wiring and how things went together. This morning I wired in the new thermostat to make sure it worked when activated. It did. I then connected it to the two wires from the furnace I had identified as the control trigger wires. Turned thermostat on and the furnace came to life. Blowing air and I could hear the igniter arcing. Turned everything off and turned on the propane. Turned on thermostat and raised the temperature. Furnace kicked on and I had heat. I still have to go back and do the final connections and install both thermostats, but for now, everything works.
My wife hasn't personally been in the RV since the change, but I talked to hear on speaker phone with the AC in turbo mode. If you want hot or cold, a quiet unit and lower power usage, this is the unit for you.
I gave it only four stars due to the less than ideal directions and the challenges I had to overcome to make the furnace work.
So glad I made the change.
